NIGE'S FAREWELL!

Well after 10 fantastic years with the band (yes it really has been 10 years) I'm Finally throwing in the towel 
I have to say it's not been an easy decision and there are many reasons for it so I'll try to explain!!!
Firstly we have had to cancel a number of gigs of late and this has been down to my work commitments mainly. If you didn't know I'm a police dude (but I'm not a fascist bastard I'm one of those nice cops honest!!) Anyway I work shifts and at any time those shifts can be changed. This is exactly what has been happening meaning a number of gigs have been cancelled :? not fair on the rest of the band but worst of all not fair on the OiT fans (who incidently, are the best in the world   )
Another reason is I want to quit while we're ahead.... the last 10 years have been awesome to say the least and I have nothing but amazing memories. I mean that, What a ride it's been fronting OiT, you have no idea how proud I am.. of myself, of the guys in the band, who, I am proud to call my friends, and all the OiT fans. I also have so many other friends... not just people who come to watch us play but the nicest fans any band could dream of ,and many of whom I now call friends (you know who you are). I don't want things to end like it does for so many other bands, where the split is full of arguments and bad feeling... I want to go knowing that OiT is still one of the best bands around and I can then come to gigs as a fan and say "I was part of that band"
This isn't the end of my singing career either. I'm working on a solo project, something I've wanted to do for ages now, It doesn't involve Rock music though so maybe enough said about that for now :wink:

Introducing the new OiT frontman, JAY!

Right guys, here's the deal!
As you know, we've been lucky enough to find ourselves a fantastic new frontman in the form of Jay. We think you're really gona like him
As you'll have seen from the gig list, Nige's last gig is the Old Market Tavern, and then Jay is gona take over the lead from then on. However, on 26th July at Whittles, we have a special treat lined up for you. So that Nige can have a proper sending off, and sing loud & proud to the best crowd around, he's gona sing the first set, and then hand it over to Jay. We're not ones for ceremonies ... but this is kinda like one. Nige isn't gona get a certificate or a medal though...  ...what does he think he is? Graduate from the school of OiT?!
Anyway, that's the plan as it stands! Keep your eyes on these news pages incase anything changes over the weeks!
Sad times to see Nige go, but likewise, exciting times moving on with Jay!

New Singer Wanted

WOOAH EASY TIGERS!! First things first...
All's cool in OiT, all future gigs will be honoured, and all 5 of us will be giving them our usual full show... so don't panic!! 
As some of you may have already heard, changes are afoot in OiT. Due to a progressing work career and family commitments, Nige has taken the decision to leave the band. He is sticking with us until we find a replacement, so we've still got a summer full of gigs to look forward to! So that means as we're not saying goodby to Nige for the moment, we'll save all the soppy goodbyes for when the day comes. So this leads us swiftly onto the second part of this announcement...
SINGER WANTEDIf you're interested in fronting One in Ten, or you know someone who might be, then get in touch! If you're reading this, chances are you already know what OiT are about; if you don't, then have a look around the site and come to one of our next gigs to see for yourself. ONE IN TEN PLAY MANCHESTER HARD ROCK CAFE'S LAST FRIDAY GIG OF 2007!

Not only is this the final gig of 2007 for Manchester's Hard Rock Cafe, for which of course the obvious choice was One in Ten , it is also Manchester HRC's launch of Global Angels.
Here's what HRC say about it:quote:

By promoting a powerful and effective global response to the needs of children in every country, we will change the course of history for children of this millennium.
We think you'll agree that sounds like a great cause, so why not come down and show your support on the night! Whats more, we've been told that there might be some hotties from Emmerdale & Coronation Street around helping to launch the event. Bonus! 
In addition to the usual OiT show, we're also proud to be supported by January, an excellent young female singer and winner of the annual Printworks Talentworks competition.
So there's more than enough reasons for coming along and bringing a few people along with you for yet another awesome night at the Hard Rock!

Hacked? Hacked off more like!!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Our web server* has been hacked, and as a result, all our database-stored infomation (i.e. a large part of this site) has been lost.
*please note that this was an attack on our shared server, not a direct attack on the One in Ten website.
A chat with our web host went like this:
Web host: It has come to our attention that the mysql service on server13 (the server that the OiT site is on) has been affected by a security breach via a users script, which has resulted in the loss of some user databases.
OiT: Are there any more details as to the nature of the security breach?
Web host: We have now checked and where necessary re-created the users settings, but unfortunately you will need check your database and where nesecary upload your database again.
Web host: We are currently attempting to trace the person that carried out this attack, we have added a new rule to the mod_security module to prevent the same attack reoccurring.
So.... thats great, but Aaron now hangs his head in shame as he admits he hasn't been taking backups as often as he should, and as a result it may be some time before we have the site back up & running again.
So, sorry we can't bring you the normal level of ROCKIN info, but we'll be back turned up to 11 as soon as possible!
